A visual catalog of growing, changing, regressing, and progressing in grief.

These images stemmed from a very personal and intimately guarded place in my psyche, leading to some photos having an intentionally incomprehensible subject matter. And, though the exact reasoning as to why some imagery is present within the photos, they come together to strike a chord with our joint experiences of grief and heartbreak.

However, it’s evident that as you get to later photos in the series the subject matter softens into acceptance and balance–finally able to separate the past from present objects and activities. And, once you see the series as a whole, it’s clear that this is a narrative of self-growth, healing, and adoration. Images part of this series can be sorted into two categories: self-portraits and detailed macro shots. All of these have been meticulously crafted to allow the viewer to notice new details and symbolism with each viewing.
